I understand avoiding SHEIN kind of stuff at the thrift, it’s not just about reselling it’s about wanting to put ur money into something that will last as long as possible especially if you’re lower income you don’t want a sweater that will fall apart n get gross in less than a year

If you want to buy shein from the thrift store, fine, whatever. But anyone getting upset at someone wanting decent quality items from a thrift store is an idiot. I buy most my clothes from the thrift store and if I see an item is from shein, I pass it over. First, there are possible safety issues, with clothing found to have levels of carcinogens beyond the legal limit. Second, I want my clothes to be quality and last me a long time. Many items that I have thrifted have lasted me years and years. I have no desire to waste my money on clothes that I will have to throw out in a season or two. Sure, thrifting shein may side step the moral issue of buying from shein directly, but it doesn't solve the issue of quality. Its completely understandable to not want to buy shein, even from the thrift store.
