In 2017, General Constantino Chiwenga sent tanks into Harare and made Emmerson Mnangagwa president. In 2026, Mnangagwa's rule has been extended to 2030, businessman Kudakwashe Tagwirei has been made a minister and politburo member, and Chiwenga's former wife Marry Mubaiwa has been removed from remand and gone public with allegations. At the Chinhoyi conference, Chiwenga told ZANU PF the party "belongs to the people, never to individuals."
