SAILING IS ALWAYS A NEW SURPRISE - SwT 79 DINGHY SHOPPING AND NEW PROJECTS
Descrição
As a sailor your boat will never stop surprising you! Its a saying if you think everything is okay with your boat it just means you have not yet discovered what's wrong. I believe lots of sailors can relate to this, and in this episode Kylie again was in for a surprise. Im going dinghy shopping as you know my old one is dead. A dinghy is my car and I need a reliable one. Going out the Pacific with a patched dinghy is not a good idea. Same with sails and other things, it needs to be in top condition. So Im also preparing my sails and other projects while waiting for Kylie.

ABOUT THIS CHANNEL:
I`m sailing sailing around the world in my Bavaria 55 Cruiser, making videos whenever I have time for it. Most of the time I sail singlehanded but occasionally I do have sailing friends onboard. Still in the Caribbean due to Covid and was supposed to be in Asia by now.
Even though this is season 3 on youtube I have already sailed 4 seasons full time but did not make that many videos in the beginning. Before full-time sailing, I have sailed several seasons in the Med prior to this, and obviously also in Scandinavia. I have been traveling the world before and also been an active regatta sailor. I had my first sailboat at age 7 and been sailing ever since. Also more than 10 years experience from Search and Rescue at sea in Norway.
PLEASE BE KIND IN THE COMMENTS!
I'm just a normal person sharing my travel adventure through my eyes and experience from my perspective! Remember how I do things might work for me but not for you. It might even not be the correct way to do things, and I don't have the blueprint either. I'm not perfect and nobody is. The day I believe I know it all and don't think I can learn new things I should go ashore.

You know that the throttle controller on the outboard does _not_ have to be turned all the way to max 😉 The benefit of having a slightly overpowered outboard is that you'll make less noise and consume less fuel 👍 Good that the bad window seals were uncovered on Wanderful, surprised that the windows already have shown signs of going bad. Guess the relentless sunny weather is to blame? Love your videos, they're bringing a bit warmth up north!

Probably the best place in the Caribbean to get work done. Cheers from a cold and wet Netherlands.

Hi Thomas! That's one nice dinghy man! Congrats for that! Don't worry, even if you're not sailing for a while, I will still be around. Take care and good winds!

Am so amazed Thomas that your dingy, even with a cover and yacht garage, that it needs replacing...What the heck did you do to abuse it..LOL No No, don't tell. BUT ! You gather yourself and assisted Kylie with her vessel faults and needed updates...well done with your encouragement. And, I still do so enjoy watching Be Free ply her way towards your ongoing adventures and experiences....well done. Once again, with your Viking heritage you still managed to plan another update with boat structure to assist little Be Free. Love it. Good onya mate...Cheers.

I think there will be general agreement that without doubt, Kylie is HOT! Lucky you. As to the window repairs, your boats were designed and built for day sailing and gunk holing and the charter fleets, not for rounding Cape Horn. They are not Swans or Hallberg Rassys nor did they cost what those boats do. Consequently, consistent vigilance, repairs and upgrades just "comes with the territory".

Gone with the Wynns just did a major overhaul in New Zealand<8 weeks>, here Kylie and you are doing the same. 'Tis the Season. Fair Winds 😎

Thanks again for the video Thomas. Your efforts are appreciated. Your new dinghy is nicer than the old 1976 Glastron inboard/ outboard runabout I bought in my younger days with my brother. Probably able to pull skiers better as well. 😉 Take care and safe travels. Looking forward to your future journeys/ videos as always.

Hi Thomas, excellently told vlog as usual. I'm looking forward to your intelligent analysis of Kylie's twisted rigging. Cheers.
