Russia Offered To Crush IS!S In Mozambique | Then The UN Said THIS

27/10/2026 · Frontline Africa

Descrição

Russia offered to help Mozambique fight the Islamic State-linked insurgency in Cabo Delgado. But more than 1 month later, President Daniel Chapo has not accepted a Russian combat deployment — and what he has done instead makes this story even more interesting.

While Moscow waits, Chapo has asked Europe to extend its military assistance to Mozambique for at least another 2 years. Rwanda’s soldiers are still on the ground. European military trainers remain active. Russia continues supplying equipment and training. And now an independent UN Special Rapporteur is saying that after almost 9 years of war, a purely military victory does not appear imminent and Mozambique should consider negotiations with the armed groups.

So how did we get here?

In this episode of Frontline Africa, we examine:

🔥 What happened to Russia’s offer to fight the insurgency
🔥 Why Chapo asked Europe to stay longer
🔥 Why Rwanda’s troops are still in Cabo Delgado
🔥 The growing role of Russia, Europe and Rwanda in Mozambique’s security
🔥 The $20 billion Mozambique LNG project and the foreign interests surrounding Cabo Delgado
🔥 Why militants are still kidnapping civilians, extorting communities and surviving after years of military operations
🔥 Why negotiations are now being discussed
🔥 And the bigger question of militant Islamist violence spreading across different parts of Africa

Cabo Delgado has become one of the most important geopolitical battlegrounds in Africa: enormous natural gas reserves, foreign military involvement, multinational energy companies and an insurgency that refuses to disappear.

France has TotalEnergies.
The United States has ExxonMobil.
Italy has Eni.
Rwanda has soldiers on the ground.
The European Union has a military assistance mission.
Russia has weapons, training and an open offer of deeper military support.

And in the middle of all of them is Mozambique.

The question is no longer simply Russia or Europe?

The real question is whether any foreign military partner can actually end an insurgency whose roots are already embedded inside African communities — and whether Mozambique can use these competing foreign powers without surrendering its sovereignty.

Should Mozambique negotiate with these armed groups after almost 9 years of war?
Is Chapo smart to keep Russia, Rwanda and Europe involved at the same time?

Tell us which country you are chatting from 🌍👇 This Mozambique story leaves us with 3 big questions: 1⃣ After 9 years of war, should Mozambique negotiate with these armed groups — or does negotiation reward violence and encourage the next insurgency? 2⃣ Chapo is keeping Rwanda, asking Europe to stay longer, while Russia’s offer remains on the table. Is this smart African multi-alignment — or is Mozambique surrendering too much of its security sovereignty to foreign powers? 3⃣ Why do armed groups so often appear around strategically important resource zones in Africa? Coincidence, weak governance around sudden wealth, or something deeper? 🔥 Pick ONE question and make your case. And please, back your argument with facts. I’ll be reading the comments. Tell us your country first 🇳🇬🇿🇦🇰🇪🇬🇭🇲🇿🇧🇫🌍

Africa problem is Africa leaderships. No negotiation with Jihadists/terrorists.

@TexasProbate YouTube · 16/08/2026 · 👍 90

Yes, haven’t we learned yet that terrorist groups are funded by the west to cause chaos, and in the midst of chaos is opportunity for the globalist?

@Cos-f6r YouTube · 16/08/2026 · 👍 63

We really need to stop calling these Western sponsored terrorists and mercenaries Jihadists, because they are not. I have studied the psychology of Western citizens.They have zero humanity. Honestly the West is scrambling for resources and survival because they have none.All Western citizens are unconsciously or not, are raised as existentialists. For all existentialists, their actions good or bad are not predicated by any moral imperatives. All their actions are purely based ONLY on their interests at any particular moment. The question is why are they still able to deceive us and use us , not for our interests, but 100% their interests. The answer is the corruption of our political elites. Until every African leader becomes Ibrahim Traore, Africa will continue to be subjugated, disrespected and treated as a child. It is that bad and sad.

They don't magically appear, they're equiped, paid and sent to displace and kill the population so that the funders come in to take the minerals while the population languishes in poverty.
