Reel Lucky Episode 9: End of the Road
Descrição
18 months, 4 oceans, 10 locations, 61 days on the water. It all comes down to this.
The final leg of the Against All Odds Challenge takes us to the Bazaruto Archipelago, Mozambique. One of the world's most uncharted and unknown big game fishing destinations, it's home to some of the most powerful marlin on the planet—both black and blue. This is the last place on earth where the double grander dream could become reality.
The bluefin grander is done. Now it's time for the 1,000lb marlin.
Fishing with Aaron Simser and the team at Mozambique Sport Fishing, based just off the northern point of Bazaruto Island, the crew head out into the Indian Ocean for an epic 11-day expedition in one of the last truly wild fisheries left on earth. Armed with custom-designed Pulsator lures built specifically for this trip, hopes couldn't be higher.
What follows is an episode that has everything. Sully, just a teenager, jumps into the fighting chair and battles a 400lb black marlin to the boat like a seasoned pro. Experience a once-in-a-lifetime overnight adventure south to San Sebastian, sleeping under the stars in the middle of Mozambique, enjoying a traditional braai on the beach, before fishing rarely touched southern pinnacles at dawn. A monster black marlin estimated at 750-800lb comes up lit up on a live yellowfin tuna, hooks on, and heartbreakingly comes off. We even bring in a local tradition to bless the gear and the crew for good luck. And on the final day, a massive black marlin strikes the lure and puts on a show that father and son will never forget.
