Descrição
MARTIN PARSONS - Presenter and Broadcaster
Originally from Sussex, Martin Parsons is an experienced presenter and broadcaster who has been fascinated by history and the natural world since his earliest childhood memories of trips to London's Natural History Museum.
After training at London's Academy Of Live And Recorded Arts, Martin's first roles saw him travelling across the UK and France, writing and presenting over 200 travel programmes from locations as diverse as the Louvre in Paris, Guernsey's Castle Cornet and the middle of the English Channel!
Since then, his hands-on history programmes have included delving onto the heritage of Derbyshire's Peveril Castle in 'History File,' looking at the past of retail in 'To Market,' as well as writing and presenting a history-of-the-home strand for over fifty episodes of property programme 'Homesearch.' Other historic documentaries have included programmes about the Queen's Jubilee and London's Docklands for the Museum of London.
In addition, the diverse nature of his career has seen Martin present the breakfast show for Garrison FM, work for Guardian Media from the Channel M newsroom as their entertainment reporter and appear as a regular guest reviewer for BBC Radio -- he is even a Met Office trained weather presenter!
Most of all though, Martin Parsons is an accomplished presenter, broadcaster and script-writer with a genuine love and experience of history presenting, whether it be exploring the heights of Alderney Lighthouse in the Channel Islands or the depths of the world-renowned Blue John Mines in the Peak District. He is experienced in live and recorded television and radio, studio and location work, as well as being an easy-to-work-with, professional and reliable broadcaster.
Martin is a member of both English Heritage and Equity, has worked and volunteered for the National Trust since 2009 and is an avid fossil collector!
