Today is the first I've heard of this storm. May those who died RIP, my condolences to their families. I hope that the people will be able to rebuild quickly and resume their lives. In addition to Mozambique, other countries must have been hit hard too.

Oh my goodness, Cyclone Freddy is the longest recorded storm in history now. The path of that storm took a truly horrendous path once it got trapped, bouncing between the eastern shore of the continent and the western shore of Madagascar. This was similar to what happened during Hurricane Ivan once it made landfall over Texas and just kept doing clockwise curly queues over land for half a week, dumping millions of cubic yards worth of rain over Houston and the surrounding areas. Both of these are symptoms of climactic conditions exacerbating across the planet when global temperatures provide storms with more fuel through warmer waters that they develop and travel over.

Odd that there hasn't been much reporting of it, not as much as other events, considering its seriousness. :( Condolences to the families.
