Europe is baking under its fifth heatwave of the year. Economists warn extreme heat is becoming an economic risk - hitting output, tourism, food prices, insurance, and public budgets all at once.
The bill? An estimated $209bn this year, roughly 1 percent of EU GDP.
Dutch bank Triodos says that wipes out almost all the growth the bloc was expected to generate in 2026.
And this isn't happening in isolation.
Europe's economy is already under pressure from higher energy prices driven by the Iran war.

I planted trees every where for shade. Tough ones with low water consumption needs. The heat and lack of water killed the lot. Fire did the rest. White ash is all that's left to say I ever tried.🤨

Anerica raw products the Futures index as well as corporate closings due to extreme heat will be refected at sometime on Global markets. Hong Kong felt high temp troubles and Shanghai flooding. We all have extreme humanity crises and they are being discovered. Dubia stated they use AC still it could not keep up. Can you imagine these high temperatures with gas and oil fires..dead

Rhine , Colorado River that effects the Hoover Dam as an energy is dry fo r 5 plus years it was a concern. I am fearful that little gas and oil is sheltered in the Middle East.

The way in which the LNG price was presented was very misleading. The unit to show the price of LNG is either MMBTu or therm. Not MWh. It's a unit of energy which measures the total amount of electricity produced or used over a period of time. The presenter needs to be better educated.
