El Niño will intensify, then peak in December — UN

El Niño will intensify even more before peaking in December. This is the forecast of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), the United Nations’ weather and climate agency. The W-M-O warns it could be among the strongest El Niño recorded since at least 1950. The weather phenomenon is set to bring above-average temperatures around the world. The forecast is based on consensus across thirteen leading national and international meteorological centers.
