Many parts of the country are currently experiencing the effects of Cyclone Montha. According to the Meteorological Department, the storm is expected to make landfall near Kakinada, a coastal region of Andhra Pradesh, by Tuesday evening. It will make landfall between Machilipatnam and Kalingapatnam. Currently, its wind speed is around 15 kilometers per hour and it is slowly moving towards the coast. It is estimated that when it makes landfall, its speed could reach 90 to 100 kilometers per hour. Strong winds and rain have already begun in many areas of Andhra Pradesh. The administration has issued a high alert in coastal districts and urged people to avoid going near the sea.
देश के कई हिस्सों में इस वक्त चक्रवाती तूफान ‘मोंथा’ का असर देखने को मिल रहा है। मौसम विभाग के मुताबिक, यह तूफान मंगलवार की शाम तक आंध्र प्रदेश के तटीय इलाके काकीनाड़ा के पास तट से टकराने वाला है। यह तूफान मछलीपटनम और कलिंगापटनम के बीच समुद्र तट पर दस्तक देगा। फिलहाल इसकी रफ्तार करीब 15 किलोमीटर प्रति घंटा है और यह धीरे-धीरे तट की ओर बढ़ रहा है। बताया जा रहा है कि जब यह तट से टकराएगा, तब इसकी रफ्तार 90 से 100 किलोमीटर प्रति घंटा तक हो सकती है। आंध्र प्रदेश के कई इलाकों में पहले से ही तेज हवाएं और बारिश शुरू हो चुकी हैं। प्रशासन ने तटीय जिलों में हाई अलर्ट जारी किया है और लोगों से समुद्र के पास न जाने की अपील की है।
