About 1833 Sagar Super Cyclone : -

On the day of 21st May, 1831 A British Merchant Ship named Duke of York faced hurricane force winds with a recorded pressure of 891 mb on Khejuri Port near Contai, record observed as the lowest in North Indian Ocean.That day The Cyclone made Landfall the newly made Sagar Port at peak intensity, devastating it & killing 4 K people, then it took a sharp NE curve just south of Kolkata & reach upto Dhaka, killing 45K people & 100K cattle in its way.
