Chalane Intensifies ; Nearing Landfall in Mozambique

Tropical Storm Chalane has been steadily intensifying since it departed the coast of Madagascar and is on course to impact Mozambique in the next few hours as a border line Cat 1 equivalent cyclone on the Safir-Simpson Hurricane Scale potentially bringing impacts to the city of Beira which was heavily impacted by Cyclone Idai a couple years ago.
Chalane is a Stage 3 on the CPDS scale right now but any further intensification could push that CDPS Scale a bit higher into stage 4. It does come down to how fast it can intensify as it cruises at nearly 25 km/h towards the Mozambique coastline.
The Mozambique Government does have Cyclone Warnings up for the Coastline and well inland from where they are anticipating the impacts of Chalane to impact their country very soon.
