Triplet tropical cyclones in the West Pacific in April with severe impacts in many island nations.

Descrição

So there is a tropical cyclone developing across the Solomon Sea, south of the Solomon Islands, and it should be intensifying pretty quickly from today, April 4th, until April 7th, and it should linger there along the Solomon Islands and Papua New Guinea for at least for the next three days, and in that time it will possibly strengthen to a modern Category 3 tropical cyclone and dump tremendous amounts of rainfall. A few models predict more than 1,000 millimeters of rainfall there across parts of the Solomon Sea, including many islands to the south of Papua New Guinea and areas there. So those areas could see some catastrophic flooding with some very dangerous to catastrophic landslides and flash flooding and coastal flooding. So please be careful in those islands. And also on the southern tip of Papua New Guinea, you should be aware as well, but especially across those islands. There's the chance of life-threatening storm surge, flooding, and damaging winds across those areas from April 4th to April 7th, at least. So please stay safe. Later this might go towards Australia or might go south into the Coral Sea, but there's still a high chance that it goes into northern Queensland. So please keep an eye there as well, and then also be careful. Across the open ocean in Fiji and Vanuatu, there will be a cyclone passing right between you in the next three days, and then it will cause some high surf and strong winds across Fiji and Vanuatu, but it won't pass right over you. It will just pass right in between you. So then, like, be careful of some stronger thunderstorms and heavy rain across Fiji and some storms across Vanuatu too, as this cyclone passes close to you. And then it will become extra tropical towards New Zealand later on, but it might pass like close to New Zealand. And then in the North Pacific, north of the equator, there's still a chance for a tropical cyclone close to Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands by the second week of April. So models are still with a strong signal for something to develop across those areas, possibly tracked towards Guam or towards other areas of the North Pacific, not next week, but possibly the other week. But by the start of next week, the moistures are already gathering across those areas there in the North Pacific. So if you are in Guam, Palau, or the Northern Mariana Islands, please watch this closely. So stay safe. And then also across Australia, depending if the cyclone hits you or not, you'll be, like, very dry, but there will be some choppy rains in Northern Territory, coastal Queensland, and there across Tasmania and parts of the southwest because of those fronts from the Southern Ocean, they will also affect New Zealand. So be aware of those areas. And then also there across Southeast Asia, still some heatwave conditions across Thailand, Cambodia, coastal Florida, Greece, some heavy rains in Central Southern Indonesia, and there across Africa, still some strong heatwaves across Sudan and throughout Central Africa, all the way to Senegal and Mauritania. So be careful and still some choppy rains across parts of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and many areas of Central Africa, and still some rains across South Africa. So stay safe, especially this cyclone forming close to Papua New Guinea.
