Tropical Storm 18S a major threat this week - 7pm EAT March 9, 2019

A new storm, yet to be named, has been designated 18S by the Joint Typhoon Warning Center. This system could rapidly intensify off the coast of western Madagascar and become an intense tropical cyclone over the Mozambique Channel in the next week. JTWC forecasts and the HWRF model suggest 18S will reach Category 4 status, and hold its intensity until landfall in central Mozambique around Thursday.
