It also broke the record for the most ace (Accumulated Cyclone Energy) from a tropical cyclone with about 87 ACE. Beating Hurricane Ioke of 2006. It also became the 2nd deadliest tropical cyclone in the south indian ocean and the 3rd deadliest tropical cyclone in the southern hemisphere.
