About 1737 Calcutta Super Cyclone : -

1737 Calcutta Cyclone, also known as Hooghly River Cyclone is the 1st Super Cyclone & Category 5 Cyclone in North Indian Ocean basin, originated near Arakan Coast,it take a NW track & make the world's 2nd Deadliest Cyclone landfall over Sagar Islands at peak intensity, accompanied by a Very Strong Earthquake near Sagar Islands, leading a underwater landslide, this & the storm surge caused a massive storm surge or a Tsunami wave of 13 meter hight, swepting 20K ships standing over the the river, killing 350,000 people, after that the Cyclone passed over Calcutta helding it's intensity & caused record breaking Rainfall of 381 mm in just 6 hours, that's not did by any cyclone till now, accompanied by the storm surge & massive rain Kolkata merged under water, killing nearly all people & 90% of infrastructure of Kolkata damaged by the devastating winds. The cyclone travel 330 km inland in NE direction & was last noted near Rajshahi of Bangladesh.
