Ten Day Forecast: GFS 00z Run Goes Very Cold For Mid-February!

Hello everyone and thanks for tuning in to today's video. We're going to look at the weather for the next ten to fourteen days for this video. Day ten will take us to the tenth of February - and we'll be able to extend out beyond that with the extended GFS and ECM ensembles (they run to around a couple of weeks)
Low pressure will sit to the north and high pressure will sit to the south in the next few days bringing westerly winds and relatively mild conditions. Looking further ahead into February high pressure looks set to build across western Europe turning the weather mostly dry and very mild. Later on we perhaps have a chance of frost and fog. High pressure could prove to be rather robust throughout the first half of February and may stick around even to mid-February but with winds always from a southwesterly direction an exceptionally mild first half to February seems possible? However, todays GFS 00z run throws a spanner in the works as it's gone very cold with a Scandinavian High and easterly winds for mid-February...

Well there are so many changes from day to day i have already said it might be a very cold February after a possible milder start Hope feel better Hope you feel better soon

Thanks Gav hopefully the Scandinavian highs come off on the latest GFS output, I still don't think this winter is quite done yet.

What we are looking for are upgrades now for a proper easterly if we dont see upgrades in the next few days then its a faux easterly just continental drift

I hope it is not cold, but Gavin is not usually wrong. I know we are all individual, but I don't get people liking the cold how horrible and very expensive. When it was 39c in last July I was in heaven.
