Streets as Archives digital Exhibition

22/10/2026 · Unpublished Africa

Descrição

Our second installation of Streets as Archives brings together 32 photographers from 10 African countries, looking at the street as a living record of memory, movement, architecture, culture and everyday life.

Through black-and-white photography, the exhibition looks at what our streets preserve: the buildings we inherit, the ways we move, the people who shape our cities, and the small details that tell us how places change over time.

This edition also marks the first time Unpublished Africa is exhibiting visual narratives from Madagascar and Mozambique, extending the range of stories and perspectives represented through our platform.

For us, exhibitions like this are part of how we create accessible publishing and visibility opportunities for emerging African visual storytellers, while building stronger pathways for their work to be seen, discussed and developed.

Curated by our founder Anesu Chikumba, alongside Bontu Shiferaw and Jorge Dachala, alumni of the Unpublished Africa Creative Business Studio.
