Qadar: Has Allah Already Written Your Destiny? | Secrets of Lawh al-Mahfuz in Islam

Understand the reality of Qadar in Islam and how Divine Will shapes our lives according to the Quran and tradition.

In this Islamic documentary, Religious Story TV explores the mysteries of Qadar (Divine Destiny) through the Holy Quran, authentic Hadith, the lives of the Prophets, the Sahaba, and the explanations of great Islamic scholars.

Long before we were born, Allah knew everything about our lives. According to a narration in Sahih Muslim, Allah recorded the decrees of creation 50,000 years before the creation of the heavens and the earth.

But here is the great mystery:

If everything is already written, why are we responsible for our choices?

And if Allah creates our actions, how can we be rewarded for good deeds or punished for sins?

We begin with the mysterious covenant known as Alastu bi Rabbikum (Am I not your Lord?), mentioned in Surah Al-A'raf, verse 172.

From there, we travel through the mysteries of the Divine Pen (Al-Qalam), the Preserved Tablet (Lawh al-Mahfuz), Allah's eternal knowledge, human free will, and the relationship between Qada and Qadar.

We examine the remarkable final advice of Ubadah ibn al-Samit, the profound question the Sahaba asked Prophet Muhammad ﷺ during a funeral, and the extraordinary discussion between Prophet Adam and Prophet Musa about destiny.

We also explore the theological disagreements between the Jabriyyah, Qadariyyah, Mu'tazilah, and Ahl al-Sunnah, and how Islamic scholars explained the relationship between Allah's power and human responsibility.

In this documentary, you will discover:

• Why Allah recorded the destiny of creation before the heavens and earth existed.

• The meaning of Qadar and Qada in Islamic theology.

• Why Allah's knowledge of your future does not necessarily mean you are forced to make your choices.

• What the Sahaba asked when they learned that the people of Jannah and Jahannam were already known.

• The extraordinary Hadith about the argument between Adam and Musa.

• The difference between human free will and Allah's act of creation.

• Why Islam rejects both absolute fatalism and the belief that human beings independently create their own actions.

• The mystery of Lawh al-Mahfuz and the angels who record our deeds.

• Why Prophet Sulayman taught us an unforgettable lesson about saying InshaAllah.

• The relationship between Hidayah (guidance), misguidance, the human heart, and Allah's will.

• Why some people experience poverty, illness, suffering, or unexpected blessings.

• Why a murderer remains responsible even though the victim's time of death was already known to Allah.

• The meaning of Ata, divine grace, and how Allah may protect a person from an evil they intended to commit.

• Why Istikhara, Dua, repentance, and righteous actions remain meaningful when everything is within Allah's knowledge.

Perhaps the greatest mystery is not that Allah already knows your destiny. It is that you do not know what has been written for you.

And that means your next choice still matters.

This documentary presents these questions primarily through the Sunni Islamic theological tradition. Some historical reports and scholarly interpretations discussed in the narration are not independently established as authentic Hadith.

May Allah guide our hearts, protect us from misguidance, grant us a beautiful ending, and make us among the people of Jannah. Ameen.

Share your thoughts respectfully in the comments.

May Allah grant us beneficial knowledge, strengthen our Iman, guide our choices, and make our final destination Jannah.
