When I lived in Zimbabwe back in the mid 1970's. We would get the effect of these typhoons. Tho fortunately ( being a couple of hundred kms inland) not the extreme winds, but heavy rains. It is the peak rainy season there, this time of year. Being at nearly 5,000 feet altitude, heat wasn't a factor. Even the peak heat in October was less than 40C, much less than here in the Philippines!!
