OceanTeacher - Regional Training Centres - National Center of Ocean Standards and Metrology (NCOSM)

Founded in 1990, the National Center of Ocean Standards & Metrology (NCOSM) is an institution directly under the State Oceanic Administration of China. Meanwhile it also acts as a verifying organization for National Marine Metrology Station and for state-level scientific achievements. It is guided and supervised by the State Bureau of Quality Technical Supervision professionally.

The NCOSM is located at Jieyuanxi Road, Nankai District, Tianjin. The office building is over 3000km2 and the laboratory building is more than 1500km2. The Center now has over 50 professional technicians, among which are 2 chief senior engineers, 16 senior engineers and 17 engineers. There are 2 appraisers for state-level metrological identification, 6 metrological supervisors and 10 metrological verifiers in the Center. The Center is composed of General Affairs Office, Planning Division, Metrological Verifying Division, Standard Quality Division, Instrument Developing Division and Comprehensive Service Division.
Within the framework of the OceanTeacher Global Academy NCOSM focuses on Chinese speaking students.
