Mozambique's Road to Recovery After Cyclones Idai and Kenneth

Cyclones Idai and Kenneth disrupted the lives of 1.5 million people in Mozambique, about 11% of the population in the four provinces where the damage was the worst. After a little more than six months, Mozambique has restored most of its storm-damaged bridges and roads, thanks to a rubout and prompt financial assistance, including from the World Bank. The numbers are impressive: the World Bank funded the rehabilitation and reconstruction of 700 kilometers of paved roads, 1,900 kilometers of rural roads, 46 bridges, and 40 kilometers of dikes to protect roads from flooding.
