Madagascar Cyclone Update and more storms possible

An area of interest continues to wander around the northwestern coast of Madagascar today, and whilst it doesn't currently look impressive, we are expecting formation in a couple of days as it moves along the western coast of the country. This potential cyclone could reach hurricane force later in the week as it stalls near southwestern Madagascar, and could dump very large amounts of rainfall sparking flooding concerns.

Mozambique could also receive this storm next week, with the extended forecast very uncertain.

Elsewhere, one or two cyclones could form in the eastern Indian Ocean, southwest of Indonesia this week. Both systems are expected to remain out to sea, although Christmas Island and the Cocos Islands could be affected.
