In Cervinia, Italy: Gusts of wind up to 100 km/h cause the Cretaz chairlift to sway

Moments of fear today in the Cervinia region, where sudden strong gusts of wind, exceeding 100 kilometers per hour, blocked the Cretaz chairlift.

The lift, Cervino Spa explained in a note, had been closed to the public due to suddenly worsening conditions and the last passengers to reach the top station. “During the dismantling phase of the line which was carried out very safely and according to procedures – a further increase in winds was recorded.
