We sailed into Recife, Brazil just in time for the last day of Carnival. After a long passage, we weren't prepared to party quite as hard as the Brazilians but we still had a great time. The best was yet to come though, as our friend Hans, who is a pilot in Recife, offered to take us on a couple of maneuvers. We had to climb up the side of the container ships and got to watch from the bridge as he maneuvered one ship out to sea and then brought the second one into port. It was absolutely amazing.
The rest of our time in Brazil was primarily spent on boat projects for Starry Horizons. Our after passage checks revealed problems with our forestay/furler and a rip in a sail. There wasn't a lot of marine services available, but with Hans' help and a little bit of a 'let's just figure it out' spirit, we managed to get everything done.

What a job where you can just take your friends to work for the day! Especially a job that requires you climb up ladders going up the side of a ship! Me watching you two and Hans, thinking, "OH HELL NO!" I didn't use to be afraid of heights but a flu bug went into my ears in my late 20's and balance issues started a bit then... LMBO! I really do hope you decide to continue to film and share your next journeys. Whatever they may be! I also hope you keep sailing!

I rolled up in New York on QM2 and the pilot did a amazing piece of parking the ship up. That would be my worst fear parking a boat up boats are not cheap and to hit someone's pride and joy would kill me. Amy is very good at maneuvering and parking the boat I've noticed when watching your videos. I'm going to miss you both sailing. Of all the sailing channels I watch you two are the most calm chilled out and in control sailors I watch you always talk and let the viewers know what your doing and why your doing it . And Barry the old sea dog is most scariest sailor I watch he scares the life out of me hes just so hardcore and does it on a shoe string man takes chances. Cheers guys from the UK
