For my second vlog in Maputo city, the capital of Mozambique, in Africa, I start from an iconic church of Maputo and then I head to Mao Tse Tung Avenue, showcasing on the way all the street names glorifying the global figures of communism. Then I walk slowly towards the poorer part of the center of Maputo, Baixa. I go to the people's market, a popular place where I was regularly going to have lunch during my first visit in Maputo, 12 years ago. I have some very tasty grilled pork, but as I leave the market, again, people complain about the fact that I am filming. I finally go to the Fort of Maputo, which is the very reason why the city came to existence, and I finish the video at the famous train station of Maputo, a building that was designed by Gustave Eiffel.

Correction regarding the train station of Maputo: The train station was not designed by Gustave Eiffel, it was in fact designed by José Ferreira da Costa. The mistake comes from several tourist guides. I thought tourist guide books were reliable sources, I discovered that they are not. Sorry for that.

Hey Yves, you've missed the little museum inside the train station. Another point, the reason why the station is busier than 12 years ago, is because trains now run regularly. Another interesting thing is that the dried shrimp is not eaten as a snack, but rather, it is a condiment used in Mathapa and other dishes. I guess that's why the "mamã" was looking at you as though she has seen a ghost! Regarding the aggressive behaviour, they just want attention. Keep standing your ground. Most will end up laughing at your reaction because their aggression is theatrical. But rest assured that I will address the nation with a megaphone, so they simmer it down! I hope you managed to go to "Mercado do Peixe", which is not far from where you stayed in Maputo. Thanks for the videos. Safe travels :).
