Tropical Storm AWA has formed over northern Madagascar earlier today, and is now near the coast after forming inland. The storm is already intensifying with potent convection to the northwest, and carries winds of 50mph. The storm is expected to further intensify when it enters the Mozambique Channel, and is so far predicted to reach Category 2 status.
