Current Situation: High pressure is centering towards the west of the country allowing cooler air into the north...

Today:

Friday begins with most places looking dry but there are a few showers in the west. It's still very warm and humid in the south but cooler and fresher in the north.

Through the rest of the day most places will stay dry with sunny spells and variable cloud but a few scattered heavy showers could develop in the south. Temperatures will still be very warm in the south at 25C to 28C but cooler further north at 12C to 21C.

Tonight:

Heavy, thundery showers through the Channel will flirt with the south coast. Most other places will be dry with clear spells and variable cloud but a few showers are possible for northeastern Scotland. Temperatures will be cool in the north but mild in the south at 5C to 11C.

Tomorrow:

Most parts of the country will stay dry with sunny spells and variable cloud but a few showers are possible for northeastern Scotland with thundery rain in the Channel. Temperatures cool in the north but warm in the south with a range from 10C to 22C.

Outlook:

Sunday: Mainly dry but cooler with temperatures back close to average.

Bank Holiday Monday: Showers in the south and east but most places dry with cool temperatures.

Tuesday: Sunny spells and variable cloud. A little warmer.
