We JUST completed a TOUGH UPWIND SAIL to MARTINIQUE from ST. CROIX. We're now a ONE DAY HOP from completing a 4000-MILE ROUND TRIP to GRENADA. We LOVE Martinique, but when a DOWNWIND weather window appears almost as soon as we arrive, we know we've gotta go. Glad to meet you guys and your fun channel. I'm the ghost of Captain Ron, who was caught with a clients female and had to walk the plank. Just kidding, but I really love sailing channels, think I would love sailing, and I've got far to many to watch but OH WELL, I'm subbed now. I love the Caribbean, so much more peaceful than the pacific (most of the time). I actually watched one channel sail , by mistake, into the exclusion zone and get on land ! You should have seen the response ! And the fine also ! The lady captain, a real beginner on a serious stringy budget, had old charts she had found, paper charts. They didn't give her any mercy !

..... had never really thought about the aspect of reversing with only one engine .. jup! a whole new challenge .... Lauren's comment about not needing sodas because of the syrups and also the rating on the can of food being an A in nutrition .... back when I was 61 6'2" 164 lbs I was diagnosed with full blown diabetes .... it was then, 4 years ago now that I became aware of the added sugar. I ate what I thought was healthy and made most of my meals at home, not from a box or a can. I chose to go the non med route of exercise and diet. The reason that I bring this up is that I would not be in this situation if I had restricted my added sugar back in my 30s or even 40s. Also should point out that carbs are just sugar in disguise. I am now in the boat of if there is added sugar, corn syrup etc. on the ingredients list it is a no go ... I used to eat everything, you know the "see food you eat it" diet. eating is no longer a thing of adventure of flavors and textures, all the highlights that make up food, but purely sustenance .. try too ween your boat from the sugary drinks, it is a good start ... when you start digging in to it turns out sugar is evil .... great to see you are in Grenada and you are no longer under the pressure to get south and in the realm of "fix to get us there" and you can dig your teeth into solid solutions for your adventure creating home ..... it was great that you were rewarded with a beautiful sail to reaffirm your life path choice .... thx for the share .. as always .. never stop dreaming, just dream bigger .. have fun be safe, save our oceans ....

So used to episodes with projects and problem solving, it was kind of nice to have just a sailing episode, and one that was mostly downwind. That goal gradient really kicked in as you were approaching Grenada's sister island and you decided to sail/motor all the way to Woburn Bay. See at the end you were pulling in your portable generator to keep it from being rained on. Do hope you get more solar/fix diesel generator so the portable is just for emergencies. Assume your fishing line had multiple hooks- many cruisers have 2 poles each with just 1 lure- but seems 1 line with 2 hooks/lures can work. Look forward to future episodes in Grenada- seems all the hurricanes are veering N or NW- hope the luck holds. One project episode I am not looking forward to is the Port engine due to the probability of a poor outcome, although I wish you all the best luck.
