EL NIÑO FUELS HURRICANE SEASON | Nolo and Polo Bring Major Problems to Hawaii and Mexico

Hurricane Polo went absolutely bonkers in the eastern Pacific, explosively intensifying into a high-end Category 5 hurricane.

Polo remains an extremely powerful major hurricane just offshore of southwestern Mexico, with its outer rainbands already affecting portions of the coast.

Polo has since fluctuated in intensity, but it remains a formidable hurricane and is expected to stay very powerful during the next several days.

At the same time, another potentially significant tropical situation is developing near Hawaii. Tropical Depression Fifteen-E has regenerated southeast of the Hawaiian Islands and is forecast to rapidly strengthen.

Once it reaches tropical storm strength today, it will become Tropical Storm Nolo, and the current forecast brings the system toward the Hawaiian Islands while strengthening into a hurricane.

In this update, I'll also track the latest on a major Nor'Easter set to hit the East Coast this weekend, and a new tropical tropical disturbance in the far Eastern Atlantic.
