Didymus Mutasa's life runs through every chapter of modern Zimbabwe: the multiracial Cold Comfort Farm, solitary confinement at Sinoia, exile in Birmingham and Mozambique, ten years in the Speaker's chair, the land seizures and Operation Murambatsvina as minister of state security, the 2008 election, his expulsion in the Gamatox purge, Zimbabwe People First, and his return as a ZANU-PF elder in 2026. He is alive; allegations against him are attributed with their outcomes, and his own claims are labelled as his account.
