BACK TO MOZAMBIQUE | The Wild Heart of Coutada 9, with Mokore Safaris
Descrição
Bringing previously unavailable Episodes 1, 2 & 3 back together in this special extended episode takes us deep into the wild heart of Mozambique’s Coutada 9.
Host Andy Buchanan joins Mokore Safaris Owner and Professional Hunter Neil Duckworth and client Mark for an unforgettable journey through one of Africa’s great wilderness areas. From tracking hard-bossed dagga boy buffalo through thick jesse to following the winding game trails of an exceptional nyala bull, every day brings a new challenge.
Changing winds, difficult terrain, close encounters and fleeting opportunities make for some seriously tense moments in the bush. Along the way there are encounters with huge warthogs, incredible wildlife and plenty of stories from Neil as he reflects on the experiences and adventures that have shaped his life in Africa.
Beyond the adventure, we also get a closer look at the bigger story behind Coutada 9 — the relationship between PH and tracker, the patience and discipline required in the field, and the conservation work taking place behind the scenes.
The Duckworth family’s ongoing efforts to combat poaching, protect habitat and safeguard this wilderness for future generations, along with help from the Dallas Safari Club, show just how much work goes into keeping these wild places truly wild.
Three episodes. Unseen footage. One extended journey into Mozambique.
Adventure, conservation and the raw unpredictability of Africa — this is Coutada 9.

This was a spectacular 3 hours. The prior podcast with Neil Duckworth was a great prelude to watching him operate.

I had the privilege of hunting plains game in C9 with Neil in September/October of 2025 with my wife and 13 year old daughter. Neil and his entire staff did a great job of taking care of us and sharing the beauty of this unique landscape with us. If you have an opportunity to go you will not be disappointed. His trackers and other camp staff are extremely capable and very attentive and Neil really seemed to enjoy guiding my daughter on her hunts; he was supportive and patient. Hunting C9 was truly a high point in my hunting career and I’d like to go back someday.

I just finished watching and really loved getting to "share" the whole experience. Excellent camera work given all the brush. Thanks for sharing it.

Holy cow that's Eric Alano ? cooking the sudza, wow, can't believe its been 8 years, I think Eric was more excited we killed a buffalo than anyone. C9 is such an amazing place, not a day goes by that I don't think about this area and my time with the Duckworth's
