Awilo Longomba is a Congolese musician who was a drummer in Viva la Musica, Stukas, Nouvelle Generation and Loketo. In 1995, he finally quit drumming for singing and released his first album Moto Pamba with help from Shimita, Ballou Canta, Dindo Yogo, Dally Kimoko, Sam Mangwana, Syran Mbenza and Rigo Star.
Awilo's relatives in the music industry include his father Victor Longomba a founding member of T.P OK Jazz as well as The Longombas who are a popular afro-fusion group based in Kenya.

I still have a bone to pick with Awilo Logomba 😀😀 I was sent to go fetch water from a very far away borehole and just beside the borehole location there was a birthday party going on and the DJ was still testing his audio when he played this particular song, it was still fresh out then, and the party had to start very early cos all the kids (myself included) jumped on the dance floor and danced for hours nonstop with this song on repeat. I totally forgot I came to fetch water for our morning cooking 😀😀 My mom appeared from nowhere and flogged me all the way home that day. I cried and on the bed when I was sleeping after the floggin, the song kept playing in my head 😀
