28/09/2026 - Drier further north - Evening Weather Forecast UK - Met Office Weather

17/10/2026 · Met Office - UK Weather

Descrição

A front sitting over the English Channel brings a damp end to the day for parts of southeast England. The trailing edge of that front will move north into southern England through the night bringing more cloud and some outbreaks of rain. Further north, it will be a drier picture with any showers in the far north of Scotland easing through the evening. Skies clearest across northern England and eastern Scotland. Temperatures will feel cool in the north but cloudy skies in the south will keep temperatures in the mid teens.

Second comment. 😀 thanks Alex Burkhill for this tremendous weather evening forecast! It’s been sunny all day at Abbey School in Rotherham. ☀️ I hope it’s cloudy and rainy tomorrow! ☁️🌧️

The rain you are showing has already completely missed most of the "south east" and only affected the extreme east of Kent, as has often been the case this summer. I really don't think the Met Office are aware of just how dry one or two large areas of population are. In S.Essex we have had only 4 days with over 10mm of rain since the end of January! One in February, two in June and one two weeks ago in September. It is an absolute dust bowl with gaping cracks in the lawn and dead trees with shrivelled berries. Yet never so much as a mention of our plight just a general "quite dry" still in the South!. You need to a deep dive into my exact region if you want to make an episode about extreme weather.
