Venezuela’s Delcy Rodríguez Hails Historic US Energy Deal & Rebirth at UNGA 81 | News Central | AC1F
Descrição
In an address to the 81st United Nations General Assembly in New York, Venezuela's Acting President Delcy Rodríguez declared that her nation is undergoing a "rebirth," citing transformed diplomatic relations, recovery efforts following catastrophic June 2026 earthquakes, and a major bilateral energy pact with the United States. Rodríguez explicitly thanked U.S. President Donald Trump for his readiness to resume diplomatic and economic cooperation with Caracas, framing the new energy agreement as a pivotal mechanism to stabilize regional energy markets, stimulate growth, and protect national natural resource sovereignty.
Rodríguez outlined Venezuela’s core global principles, emphasizing a commitment to dialogue over conflict, opposition to unilateral economic sanctions, balanced energy decarbonization, and responsible governance of Artificial Intelligence. Reaffirming Venezuela's historic claim to Guayana Esequiba, she appealed to Guyana to resolve the territorial dispute bilaterally through the Geneva Agreement. Rodríguez concluded by calling for an end to past political divisions to build a unified, self-determined, and prosperous Venezuelan future.
