The Truth About Ghana's 6 Abandoned Megastructures
Descrição
6 Abandoned Projects in Ghana Which Are Just Unbelievable.
In many developing countries, unfinished infrastructure projects are widespread. Because of its critical role in attaining social and economic development, infrastructure is a top priority for governments, citizens, and funders alike. As a result, seeing much-needed infrastructure development projects abandoned in the middle of construction is both annoying and perplexing. Ghana is a lovely West African country with abundant resources, as well as a peaceful country with beautiful structures. As you may be aware, Ghana has an extraordinary visionary of completed and continuing projects, but what the majority of people do not see in high view. It’s a sad reality that wonderful projects and buildings are abandoned for whatever reasons. Approximately one-third of projects that begin are never completed, accounting for nearly 20% of all local government capital expenditure. This startling prevalence prompts the question: how serious is non-completion compared to other dimensions of the political economy of public service delivery? While precise figures are difficult to come by, this estimate of fiscal waste due to non-completion is comparable to Olken’s (2007) estimate of resource loss due to corruption in road construction (24 percent) and Finan and Mazzocco’s (2016) estimate of the percentage of public expenditure that is misallocated due to politically motivated distortions (26 percent ).

When you point finger to somebody else, the other four figers are pointing directly to you. Ghanaians always see what is wrong with other countries without looking inward to see what is wrong with your country. That is why Ghana is failing woefully

Well, l hope things are becoming clear for those Nigerians and Ghanaians putting does Nigerians. In Nigeria today, you don't hear of projects abandonment but projects completions. We are not where we out to be yet but make that progress with aggressive in terms of infrastructural developments. The truth is; Ghana is broke, very broke. When people compare Nigerians economy to that of Ghana l laugh. And when l say there are no basis for comparison those with no understanding of the situation lay into me. Ghana may have a high per income per head than Nigeria but it's only on paper. It's not reflecting in the lives of ordinary Ghanaians. When those Nigerians and Ghanaians belittles Nigerians and Nigeria It's as if Ghana is perfect but it is not. I wonder what's the magnet that attract Nigerians to Ghana because Ghana today is far more expensive to live in than Nigeria. Everything is dollarised as a result of "Year of Return" initiated and promoted by the government of Ghana without them considering the consequences of that project on the local economy and the people. Now prices of everything has gone up and local people are being exploited. I read on a different platform that local people are being paid $70 a month working crazy hour. $70 dollars a month! Can you imagine that! I say no more.
