Typhoon Vamco (Philippine name Ulysses) was the second major typhoon to impact the Philippines in just 2 weeks in November of 2020. Forming in the Philippine Sea, Vamco initially struggled to intensify as the storm's large size hindered it. However, the typhoon ramped up in the final hours before making landfall in the Philippines, becoming a category 2 equivalent typhoon. After moving into the South China Sea, Vamco broke all expectations and rapidly intensified, surpassing the maximum potential intensity for the region the typhoon was in, becoming a category 4 storm. Vamco then weakened before making landfall in Vietnam but still made a typhoon landfall.

Vamco hit us with a signal #2, I still remember our power going out for 4 days because of this but in the meantime I was hanging out with some friends. Thankfully our house didn't flood, and our house wasn't damaged. Though our neighbors' house did flood, but it wasn't deep.

we couldn't sleep for five hours because of the strong winds here in angeles pampanga. everyone that lived nearby or in the same area (generally pampanga) was awake and active on facebook, i never want to experience that again. hopefully everyone else in other areas were safe from those winds

this is one of the storms that we took direct hit (northern quezon) The winds were super strong outside but theyre stil no flooding overnight. But when the storm calm down, the surge came unexpectedly, it was super high at our place but it was higher in some lower areas (the floods there were as high as a person)
