South Island flood risks this week, North Island rain chances next week

La Nina weather patterns seem to be waking up in the NZ area with a deluge coming for the West Coast and Nelson area with spillover into Marlborough and Canterbury over the next four days.
The North Island misses out on the bulk of this rain for now - but from this Sunday and across next week the North Island also has heavy rain chances. We bring you the latest forecast through until Sunday.

Hope westport is ok. Grey has had no flooding since the great river dredging of 2019, touch wood its ok. Dry tanks, parched gardens, we need it. Take care coasters.

Water falls at Karekare still pumping. The hills are tinged brown as are the lawns. So much rain in the South phew😗 hope Westport have recovered before next deluge.Humid next week & rain 🌧 February weather 😎 Thanks Phil

Hi Philip, love watching your weather forecast but you may want to look at your colour scheme which tends to be somewhat confusing. For instance using dark blue to indicate no rain and 150mm plus rain Keep up the good work much appreciated.
