Severe Weather Risks Return to the East & Tropical Storm Development Western Gulf States

Weather in a Minute 6/16/2026 We are continuing to see beautiful weather conditions across the Northeast and Mid Atlantic. We do however have adverse weather developing in the coming days. Low pressure in the Western Gulf of Mexico could become a brief tropical storm later today or tonight but the rains from this will bring flash flood risks to the Gulf States. An approaching cold front will bring widespread severe weather in the Midwest specifically #illinois & #indiana Wednesday. There is the risk for intense tornadoes in this region. Thursday the severe weather and tornado risk will shift to #pennsylvania #newyork #newjersey and #longisland
