Regional solutions key to migration challenges - Mondlane

28/09/2026 · Newzroom Afrika

Descrição

Mozambican opposition leader Venâncio Mondlane has weighed in on Tuesday's planned demonstrations against undocumented foreign nationals in parts of South Africa. Mondlane says he understands the frustrations expressed by many South Africans but argues that the migration challenge cannot be resolved unless neighbouring countries address the economic and governance issues driving people to leave their home countries. He says lasting solutions require greater regional cooperation and accountability.

Who is going to fix those nations when the citizens run away?

It’s crazy how long this has been going on. African leaders are solely responsible for poverty in Africa. Filling their pockets, how they are proud of their positions, nobody understands.

The question is who should fix those broken countries if not their citizens themselves

Ponder me this. Why are African leaders 10 to 25 times richer than others countries compared to their countries wealth?

Excellent interview! the man spoke a great deal of sense. It’s a shame it was cut short right as he was making strong points about getting ‘March and March’ to help close African embassies that do nothing for their home countries.

DEAR AFRICANS, FORGET ABOUT OPEN BORDERS that cannot be a solution instead a complete disaster 😑

Unfortunately march and march cannot demand a foreign government to do the right things, only the citizens can do so.
