BREAKING ZAMBIA NEWS: Former Petauke Central MP Emmanuel “Jay Jay” Banda is at the centre of a new High Court legal challenge after his mother, Grace Banda, reportedly applied for a writ of habeas corpus.

According to Phoenix FM, Grace Banda alleges that the family has been unable to establish her son's whereabouts or gain access to him following his reported apprehension in Mozambique on 14 October 2026.

Zambia Police confirmed on 16 October that Banda had been apprehended and returned to Zambia, awaiting formal arrest and charging.

Now, his mother is asking the Lusaka High Court to intervene.
