We lived in Fairland, Johannesburg, and used to visit Mozambique - staying at the Polana Hotel - every year. Huge tins of cashew nuts, flagons of portuguese red wine, and sparkling beaches remain fixed in my mind 50+ years later. Wouldn't go anywhere near this country today.

Yes, sir, I was there. I was a child. They came for us with machine guns and bayonets, dragging us out. They took everything my parents had worked so hard for over the years. They arrested my father, beat him, and forced him to work in the labor camps. Eventually, they let him go. We had to escape to Beira, and soon my father found a place for us on an old Portuguese military ship. We left with nothing, not even a penny. Frelimo melicia made us take our clothes off and searched us before we boarded. Even the two little sugar packets I had in my small purse—they took those too. It all happened so fast; we didn't have time to grieve, just to get out alive.

I’m a Portuguese South African and know Portuguese who fled Mozambique,most with only the clothes on their back. It’s funny because Mozambicans want to get Portuguese citizenship, the same people that killed and drove many of them away. They want everything,but don’t work for anything.

The USA dropped 2 Atom bombs on Japan. Japan is a economic power house today trough intelligence and hard work . The whole western world has been giving aide to Africa for longer than my life time and they are going backwards 😳
