Papua New Guinea – Land of the Unexpected – 29’ 06''

“I guess we could call it really a society in rapid transition, if not upheaval. When our first missionaries came they found people who were in the Stone Age. They were using stone instruments to cut wood and to chop trees … And now 60 years later, the people really have been drawn, have been pulled, and have been forced into the 21st century.”
Rt. Rev. Donald Lippert, OFM Cap, Bishop of Mendi

Papua New Guinea occupies the eastern part of the world's second largest island. Linguistically, it is the world's most diverse country, with more than 700 native tongues and with some 80% of its 7 million strong population living in rural areas with few or no facilities of modern life. Papua New Guinea is a young country - only 250 years old - caught between modernity and the traditional ways. The Catholic Church, a missionary Church, is growing, with today one out of three Papuans Catholic.

No offense whatsoever meant. Genuinely curious. Is there interbreeding because everyone looks related?
