Northeast Ohio weather forecast: Storm system arrives Wednesday

Your 6 p.m. Northeast Ohio weather forecast for April 3, 2023: Welcome to the first full week of April folks! There's a lot headed our way this week especially by mid-week. While we have a few rain chances today and tomorrow, the main event will be Wednesday across NE Ohio.
Tonight, conditions become rather cloudy and rain chances trend northward overnight (aka our lakeshore counties will be clipped). If you liked today's temperatures, you'll like the next couple of days too. We'll be in the 60s yet again for tomorrow and in the 70s for Wednesday. Our average high temperature this time of the year is in the mid-50s, so we'll hover well above that for the next 72 hours or so.
Why is Wednesday a day to watch? Well, we'll have another potent area of low pressure building. As it does so, we get very warm until a strong cold front catches up. We'll likely have two waves of stronger thunderstorms that have the potential to become severe...one would be through Wednesday afternoon and the other Wednesday evening ahead of the actual cold front. With these storms, all threats are on the table...but timing will play an important factor to what really develops here. We'll keep you posted on-air and online with the latest on this evolving system.
By Thursday, temperatures are knocked back into the 50s...a far cry from being in the 70s. We'll see more sunshine by that time as high pressure begins to take over.
Truthfully, we're in for one of the most gorgeous weekends we've had in sometime...which is perfect for the Guardians home opener and Easter Weekend!
