*Over 4 weeks now and still no mention, on your News podcast,  of Ghanaian MP, Frimpong's arrest by the FBI.* Frimpong is a bad apple, and am quite sure he wasn't acting alone, in this defrauding case, and other crimes he is engaged in at home in Ghana. By shielding him and colleagues, you are aiding and abetting further crimes in Ghana, subsequently turning the Ghanaian economy or lack thereof, into a migrant exporting machine. Ghana mineral resources wise, is not a poor country, its citizens shouldn't be fleeing from Ghana. The pride of Ghanaians should not be that their govt sent planes to pick them up, as stranded migrants, but that they stayed home and can see a future for themselves in Ghana. Frimpong is a hyperlink for crimminal activity in govt, by refusing to shine a light, you are pleasing his accomplises but betraying your people, the average Ghanaian. Ghana's migrant problem does not start with South Africa, it starts with the misgovernance of the govt of Ghana and the prevailing culture and norms of behaviour, of its people. The blaring out of the well-known and publicised foibles of president Ramaphosa, will not save Ghana, maybe not even the South African people. President Obama was right when he said Africa's problem is weak systems but the likes of yourself spend more time and energy on the vilification of "selected individuals" at the cost of calling out institutional failures. Notice, when white South Africans are interviewed, they talk of system failures but when the blacks on both sides, Ghana and South Africa, are interviewed, its MAHAMA, ABLAKWA, JACINTA..it's a media carnage anchored on personalities.. The Ghanaians sing hymns of praise on what a good man Mahama is, and how his disciple, Ablakwa is such an angel... Unless West Africa embraces systems that work, you will continue to be a net exporter of human beings like times of old, despite the talent and worldliness of it's people. Ghanaians by African standards are well educated and travelled; its time they focused their talents on improving Ghana, and by extension Africa. Ghana should not be looking South, at the small economy, in South Africa, by world standards but at the 28 trillion dollar European economy that is only 6 hrs flight time from Ghana. Why aren't Ghanaians living in Europe setting up companies for products to be manufactured in and exported from Ghana. I am flabbergasted when I hear the Ghanaian govt shamelessly quantify the exportation of Ghanaian makeshift hairstylists as an export to be proud of...
