I write this message from the United Kingdom as a Black man of African heritage, with deep respect for South Africa, its people, and its historic struggle for freedom. But I must speak honestly. There is something profoundly troubling about watching fellow Africans being harassed, threatened, attacked, or told to "go back home" simply because they were born in another African country. When Africans are targeted for being Nigerian, Ghanaian, Tanzanian, Somali, Kenyan, Zimbabwean, or from any other African nation, it is not merely an attack on individuals—it is an attack on the very principle of African unity. South Africa occupies a special place in the heart of Africa. The world admired its struggle against apartheid. Millions across the continent celebrated when freedom finally arrived. African nations stood with South Africa in its darkest hours because they believed in a future founded on justice, equality, dignity, and human rights. That is why these events are so painful to witness. The question that echoes across Africa is simple: How can a nation that suffered so deeply under exclusion and discrimination tolerate the exclusion and discrimination of fellow Africans? Many of those who have come to South Africa arrived with little more than hope, determination, and a willingness to work. They opened small businesses, invested their savings, created jobs, served communities, and contributed to the economy. They did not come as enemies. They came as Africans seeking opportunity through honest effort and enterprise. The success of a Nigerian entrepreneur is not a threat to South Africa. The success of a Ghanaian trader is not a threat to South Africa. The success of a Tanzanian, Somali, Kenyan, or Zimbabwean business owner is not a threat to South Africa. Their success is evidence of African potential, African resilience, and African excellence. No nation can claim leadership of a continent while remaining silent when fellow Africans are intimidated, attacked, or made to feel unwelcome. Leadership carries responsibility. Great nations are measured not by their power, but by their commitment to justice. This message is not directed at all South Africans. Millions of South Africans reject xenophobia and believe in the values of unity and human dignity. This message is directed at those who spread hatred, those who incite division, and those who stand by when injustice occurs. Africa's future will not be built through fear, resentment, or exclusion. It will be built through cooperation, mutual respect, economic partnership, and a recognition that our destinies are connected. The world is watching. Africa is watching. History is watching. And future generations will ask whether we chose division or unity, whether we chose hostility or brotherhood, whether we honoured the sacrifices of those who fought for freedom or forgot the lessons they taught us. The answer to that question is being written today. Let it be written with courage, justice, and respect for every African, regardless of which African nation they call home.

It is shameful for South Africans to treat their fellow African brothers and sisters this way. South Africa has no moral ground to support Palestinians against Israel while failing to show the same solidarity and respect to other Africans.

It’s weird how the Moz government know that their Citizens have been harmed. But they don’t know how many of their citizens came to SA undocumented.
