For Bassunga and his men, the road to wood can be strewn with pitfalls. Every day, he takes to the forest in his old truck with his comrades. Without any protection, bare feet and hands, they can cut down twenty trees in a few minutes for a miserable salary. A totally illegal activity in Mozambique but which makes the traffickers happy who then send the wood to China where the needs are immense. For simple travellers, the roads of Mozambique quickly become hell. In front of his minibus, Johnny is desperately waiting for the client. The torrential rains of the night do not encourage him to leave but he has no choice, the truck must be filled otherwise the day will be lost for Johnny. Between the impassable ruts and the traps set by the inhabitants, the 100 kilometers of track will take on the appearance of an odyssey.

Thank you for these documentaries . It's helping me , and I'm sure others , get a view that we've never had before , of life for people in far away places . How hard their lives are . Yet they do not complain or give up , they just persevere , and even find a way to love their lives . I live so comfortably and securely , yet complain about the minor inconveniences in my life . These documentaries have helped me come to better appreciate my life . What a privilege it is to live as an American in the 21rst century . I'm glad I live in America , and not somewhere else . I hope for a better life for these people .

Talk about courage and resilience...a man with 14 crates of beer on a bike, responsible to pay for any possible damage to the fragile cargo...wow!!!

Glad to see my country roads, people and their resilience depicted here. Believe there are worse places and ive been to some of them and still find people with hope and smile on their face. This is Mozambique, this is Africa..
