It's now so common that families are paying ransom amounts in installments to get their loved ones back.

Right before electoral campains we had a kidnapping, nothing during campaign time, right after that portuguese was kidnapped and it stopped again now with protests. Whenever the govmt/police is busy there are zero kidnappings. It’s very likely their business. At least that’s what we mozambicans think

Kidnappings has been a thing for close to 10 years in Mozambique. Its not a new thing, and is definitely not on the rise now. Lets maintain the focus on the Elections please

Thank you al ja zeera for having the courage to shed a light on something that the Frelimo government has been hiding under the rug for the last 13 years, mr Nazir and his family are not the exception, they’re the rule. Hundreds have been kidnapped, some have been killed and all have been permanently traumatised by the events. So again, thank you for putting a light to what’s been kept hidden by Frelimo
