The heavy rains obstructing international relief efforts let up on Friday, permitting helicopters and boats to deliver aid to hundreds of thousands of flood victims.
A civilian rescue team from the state of Florida in the United States and a group of German border police were among the teams of aid workers delivering supplies to flood victims.
But with banks of rain-swollen clouds sweeping in from the Indian Ocean, it was unclear how much time relief workers had to reach victims.
The day after U-S helicopters flew their first aid deliveries from the Mozambique city of Beira, a civilian rescue team from the state of Florida in the U-S were delivering supplies by boat on Friday.
Boats are a cheap effective way of delivering much needed supplies.
According to the World Food Programme, 78 boats are operating in Limpopo basin.
The Miami-Dade Aid organisation were assigned to deliver food supplies to the city of Buzi .

Meanwhile a group of German border police were delivering aid by helicopter.
Up to a (m) million Mozambicans have lost their homes or their livelihood as a result of three weeks of rain that caused rivers to overflow, some spreading 48 kilometres (30 miles) beyond their banks in either direction.
With many villages completely flooded, food and drugs are scarce.
