Mozambique: 21 Dead in 24 Hours After Violence Over Disputed Election Results | Firstpost Africa
Tensions have again risen in Mozambique, where protests are ongoing over the disputed October 9 election results. In the latest, at least 21 people, including two police officers, have been killed in the past 24 hours. The government has said that a total of 236 acts of serious violence have been reported across the country. Fresh protests and violence erupted across Mozambique after the Constitutional Council confirmed the ruling Frelimo Party’s victory in the disputed elections in October. With the latest killings, the death toll in the post-poll violence in Mozambique has crossed 150. Shops, banks, supermarkets and petrol stations have all been ransacked in several parts of the country, while residents are staying home to avoid getting caught up in the unrest. But despite this, the opposition leader Venancio Mondlane, has called for protests and demonstrations to continue despite the killings. Is Mozambique heading towards a greater political crisis? Watch the video to know more.

The opposition leader cherishes power more than the people he wants to lead. Wisdom is placing the country first by toning down to enable dialog and development of a win-win solution. Protests doesn't help the same economy or the people.

Just hand over the presidency to the rightful winner: Venâncio Mondlane. FRELIMO has also released prisoners from a high security prison to vandalize and terrorize our people. Hundreds have been killed to date with police brutality. We just want change. It's been almost 50 years of a dictatorial criminal regime. Enough is enough 😔❤🇲🇿

They must go back and do recounting. The mere fact that there is such discrepancy between the preliminary and the final results is a red flag
